Many community non-profits exist only through the generosity of those that support their primary missions. That’s why a recent donation from April Ancira means so much to an organization like SA YES and the many others Ancira is donating to this year as well.
SA YES, the San Antonio Youth Education Support Project, is an organization fundamentally tasked with providing school supplies to children in-need over the last 25 years. They provide each student with their basic school material needs for a successful and meaningful school year. They also provide various grants to Title I Elementary Schools. Most recently the organization provided over $100,000 in STEM grants.
SA YES was created by The PM Group’s founder and CEO, Bob Wills. His longtime belief is that education is the best cure for poverty, and it creates equity solutions.
April Ancira and the Ancira Auto Group has been involved with SA YES for more than 12 years now. They have been a major sponsor of the annual SA YES Drive Away for Education Truck Raffle by donating new trucks to be raffled off to one lucky winner each year. Knowing the impact SA YES makes in our community, is why April designated SA YES as a recipient of her $1,000,000 community initiatives. “SA YES is so thankful for Ancira’s generous donation. It will help us support another 9,000 children,” stated SA YES executive director, Danielle Gunter.
The PM Group hosted a press conference, bringing media outlets from throughout the city to spread the word about the generous donation and its impact on the work SA YES can continue to do in San Antonio. In 2021 alone, SA YES was able to provide 50,000 school supply kits to students in South Texas in conjunction with their organizations distributing in Austin and Corpus Christi as well as San Antonio. Their impact continues to grow each year.
