Do you know Joey Tomlinson?
He’s probably not known by most people, but to SA YES and The PM Group he has been a rock star performer! Ever since the inception of SA YES 23 years ago, Joey has generously volunteered his time as our auctioneer at all our charitable events. He’s also the auctioneer for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.
Now, his legacy is permanently planted into the San Antonio community with the opening of the new ‘Joey Tomlinson Elementary School’ located in the Northside Independent District.
In Joey’s honor, SA YES provided an $8,000 grant to his namesake school to help launch their new STEM Lab.
“As we build our elementary STEM Lab from the ground up, this grant provides highly engaging resources in an environment centered around creative thinking and real-world problem solving,” stated school principal, Wendy Tiemann. “Funds at these beginning stages of our STEM program will make an immediate impact that would take us months or even years to accomplish on our own. Thank you, SA YES for your commitment to the education of our youth! I hope that others see this opportunity and take the time to seek a grant for their programs,” she added.
SA YES Executive Director, Danielle Gunter, presented the grant money to Tiemann at a ceremony at the new school. “We are so proud to be apart of this new school and to recognize Joey for his decades of service to the community” stated Gunter.
