Gifted singer Whitney Houston once sang about how, “children are our future” and Thomas J Henry and SA YES couldn’t agree more! That is why they teamed up to come to the aid of 12 area elementary schools in need of financial assistance for their STEM educational programs.
“In an ever-evolving world, STEM programs are at the forefront inspiring future leaders to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Through the generosity of Thomas J. Henry, it is an honor to support these 12 local schools who are driven with a similar mission to create innovative and inclusive educational opportunities for all students,” said Danielle Gunter, SA YES Executive Director.
These donations are part of the SA YES grant program called ‘YES Grants.’ Annually the non-profit opens up their funding to public, private, and charter schools in the community focusing on STEM and innovative programs. Additionally, SA YES distributes FREE school supplies to over 45,000 children every year in South Texas.
SA YES was created by The PM Group’s CEO and Founder Bob Wills over 23 years ago. “A quality education is the base foundation of any successful and prosperous life. Providing less fortunate children all the proper tools they need to succeed is essential to their education and their overall future success in life,” Wills stated. Every child SA YES helps receives all of the school supplies mandated by the State of Texas’ educational guidelines, including paper, notebooks, folders, rulers, Kleenex, pencils, pens, etc. The foundation targets their assistance to Title 1 designated elementary schools, where the most support is needed.
“Thomas J Henry has been an angel to SA YES,” claimed Gunter.
Henry has been supporting the organization for over five years now with his generous financial support and guidance. Initially his support was in San Antonio only, but it has since expanded to Austin and Corpus Christi over the last two years. Starting in 2022, the annual school supply program will expand into the DFW market along with Thomas J Henry’s legal practice.
Many of the PM Group’s senior agency team leaders serve on the SA YES board of directors including Kathy Schmitt, Fran Yanity and Peggy Wills demonstrating the agency’s commitment to their community and children.
