History is packed with many. Many individual success stories of people that believed in what they were trying to accomplish—despite those that rejected them for multiples of reasons. Here are a few great examples:

 

 

Walt Disney- He built the Magic Kingdom into the biggest family entertainment destination on the planet. Yet, he was fired from his job at a newspaper “for lacking imagination and having no good ideas.” It started with a mouse!

 

 

Michael Jordan- Can you believe he was cut from his high school basketball team for ‘being too short and not good enough’–yet he went on to being the greatest basketball player in history!

 

 

JK Rowling-  She was a single mother on welfare living in her car. She wrote ‘Harry Potter’ on napkins and was rejected by 12 publishers before it became a billion-dollar franchise.

 

 

Oprah Winfrey- She was born into extreme poverty, suffered abuse, and got pregnant at the age of 14, but became the first black female billionaire and one of the most influential media moguls in American history!

 

 

Stephen King- His first novel “Carrie” was rejected 30 times by publishers, and he literally threw it in the trash. However, his wife rescued it, and the book became his first best seller. Today, he has written over 50 best-selling books!

 

 

Colonel Sanders- The infamous chicken mogul was 62 years old, broke and living on Social Security when he started KFC. His chicken recipe was rejected an incredible 1,009 times before someone said yes to his idea!

 

 

Albert Einstein- He didn’t speak until he was 4-years old and his teachers said, “he would never amount to anything.” Yet he went on to revolutionize physics and became history’s greatest genius!

 

 

The advertising industry is a lot like the success examples written above.
