Each year in April, philanthropist attorney Thomas J Henry partners with local community non-profits in San Antonio, Austin, and Corpus Christi to help spread awareness and to raise resources for women and children affected by verbal & physical abuse. Supporting and giving back to his community has always been one of Thomas J Henry’s highest priorities throughout his professional career. He truly believes that it is only through human interaction and by helping others that homes a safer place for women and children. That is why The PM Group is focused on developing fundraising campaigns for Thomas J Henry in support of Christy’s Hope, SAFE, and The Purple Door this year recently in the month of April and in the coming years. Mr. Henry also provided $120,000 in direct funding to financially assist the 3 organizations.
Christy’s Hope is located in San Antonio and has been serving the community for 22 years. The organization works directly with the San Antonio Battered Women’s Shelter to support them by raising funds so that the shelter can maintain their open arms policy, and never have to turn a family away due to lack of funding. Christy’s Hope also provides 24-hour crisis intervention, counseling, legal assistance, an on-site school for children, on-site adult education, case management services, transitional housing, and on-site primary medical and dental care.
SAFE has been supporting the Austin community for over 45 years. Their mission is to stop abuse for everyone by serving the survivors of child abuse, sexual assault and exploitation, and domestic violence. They are dedicated to ending violence through prevention, advocacy, and comprehensive services for individuals, families, and communities that have been affected by abuse. Among their many services, they offer housing and shelter as well as a confidential 24/7 SAFEline that allows those in need of help to call for immediate assistance.
The Purple Door is headquartered in Corpus Christi with additional offices located in the surrounding rural areas. They have been providing a safe haven to women and children effected by abuse in the Coastal Bend for 43 years. Their mission is to empower the community and those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault to transition to a safe and healthy environment. Their goal is to end domestic violence and sexual assault in the Coastal Bend, and they strive to accomplish this by providing services to victims and their families as well as through their prevention education efforts.
This year more than ever, these organizations are answering to the needs in their communities as abuse in the home has increased due to the COVID-19 lockdowns. What began as a normal April campaign was extended to continue to spread the message that these organizations are here to provide safety and support to those who need it most. Below are the awareness TV commercials that ran during this campaign. Thomas J Henry also provided financial support to develop the media campaigns and air the commercials in all three markets.
