Step inside the captivating rendition of Frida Kahlo’s iconic blue home and lush garden sanctuary at one of the San Antonio Botanical Garden’s latest exhibits, Frida Kahlo Oasis. This immersive exhibit is making its world debut now through November 2, 2021 and features the elements and environment that influenced Frida Kahlo’s timeless and inspirational art. As a one-of-a-kind exhibit, the Botanical Garden has recreated her ‘Casa Azul’ with all of the shades, scents, sounds, and sights to transport you to her own garden in Mexico City.
It’s always an exciting opportunity for our team to come together to help promote such inspirational art and culture experiences within our city, especially in a city like San Antonio steeped in such a rich Mexican culture and heritage. Working together with Noisy Trumpet to develop a digital and PR campaign, our team was able to garner 63 media hits and over 17.8 million impressions to date for the new Frida Kahlo exhibit. The plan included a media day for local news outlets to attend and tour the garden while being able to interview San Antonio Botanical Garden CEO, Sabina Carr and Director of Horticulture, Andrew Labay. We also helped coordinate a social media influencer night at the garden to bring in local influencers to share their experience with their followers. The PM Group promoted the exhibit through print ads featured in the San Antonio Express-News, SA Monthly, San Antonio Magazine, and Dominion Magazine. This strategic advertising and media coverage including local television exposure, a Texas Monthly feature, and a national editorial helped the San Antonio Botanical Garden blow their opening weekend attendance record out of the park!
