After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic, the World Series of Poker returns to its traditional home at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas starting September 30th.
This marathon of poker events runs for seven weeks with the coveted ‘WSOP Main Event’ scheduled to kick-off on Thursday November 4th and runs through Wednesday November 17th. The Main Event champion typically wins 5-7 million dollars and this year a new challenger has emerged.
The former San Antonio Spurs basketball star and future NBA Hall of Famer, Tony Parker, will be playing at the WSOP Main Event for the very first time. It would be a miscalculated mistake to count Tony out.
Just this past January 16th, Tony defeated over 200 Texas Hold ‘Em Charity Poker players to win our charity poker tournament and take the $25,000 grand prize. That win, catapulted Tony to worldwide poker fame and he was invited to play in the WSOP Main Event. The charity fundraiser also raised a hefty $70,000 for San Antonio Sports.
Recently, the French edition of LivePoker featured Tony Parker on its May 2021 magazine cover and anointed him as a sensational ‘Poker All-Star!’
Without a doubt, the entire City of San Antonio will be rooting for Tony to win it all at the WSOP…..and it all started here with our charity poker event!
Good luck TP!
