San Antonio Spurs Coyote Helped Reward Members of San Antonio Shoemakers’

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The San Antonio Spur’s Coyote provided energy and excitement on Thursday, August 13th at 5:30 pm when he attended the San Antonio Shoemakers’ A-Team celebration to cheer on and recognize all children and grandchildren of current SAS employees who have maintained an “A” average throughout the previous school year. This is the 27th year SAS has recognized employees’ straight-A students; the recipients each received a pin, certificate of excellence and a cash award.
“The A-Team ceremony is our way of encouraging students to strive for excellence, just as we do here with the quality of our handcrafted shoes. We give the students this incentive as a reward for their hard work during the school year and as a way to encourage them to broaden their horizons and reach for their dreams,” states SAS CEO Nancy Richardson.
On Thursday, 99 children were recognized, adding to the approximately 8000 who have been graced with the prestigious company-wide award over the years. The program is open to SAS employees’ students in grades kindergarten through college.
