Eighteen years ago, The PM Group had a vision to create a non-profit organization for a valued client to help low income families with the cost of their children’s public education. The outcome was the formation of the San Antonio Youth Educational Scholarship foundation…..better known as SA YES.
That client, the Richard & Lana Breakie family owned most of the Taco Bell and KFC restaurants in the San Antonio area. They loved the idea of SA YES and enthusiastically supported the foundation for 17 years. Their daughter Cari, became the Executive Director and led her family’s mission of the organization.
Every August since 1998, over 25,000 students received their school supplies from SA YES. The organization also awarded college scholarships every year to deserving kids. But the mission of SA YES was recently dangerously close to ending. The Breakie’s sold their restaurants, retired and the foundation was scheduled to close down.
Enter Thomas J Henry’s generous support. The foundation was saved from extinction!
Mr. Henry and his family committed to supporting the SA YES foundation with their sponsorship of SA YES’s two biggest fundraisers; the SA YES Golf Classic on Monday October 19th at Fair Oaks Country Club and the SA YES Taste of Education Dinner to be held October 18th at Silo Elevated Cuisine on Loop 1604.
Now, a new generation of support & tradition will continue…….and thousands of kids will have the school supplies they need to help them excel in school.
Thank you Thomas J Henry!
