Under-served youth in our community and across the country have felt the many challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Kids today are adapting to online learning, coping with stay-at-home orders which suspended social environments, and they have missed out on classic once-in-a-lifetime high school experiences like their proms and traditional graduations.
Teens are learning to adjust to a new norm.
If the challenges brought on from the pandemic are not hard enough, teens within inner-city communities continue to face adversities present within their own neighborhoods. The accumulation of a pandemic on top of these everyday hardships, adds another level of uncertainty for their future. These youth need support as they endeavor to finish high school and move onto higher education or entry into the workforce.
The PM Group strongly believes in supporting disadvantaged groups in San Antonio as essential to our moral values and community needs. When we can uplift those dealt a more difficult hand, we know that the entire community will greatly benefit. That is why we were eager to become involved with P.A.M. Media Outreach, an organization that teaches leadership skills to inner-city youth. By empowering teens throughout the inner-city and urban high schools of San Antonio, P.A.M. Media Outreach provides them with the opportunities to learn how they can make a difference and create positive change not only in their high school communities, but the surrounding communities as well. We know these youth become the leaders for tomorrow’s future. The organization is led by Executive Director and Founder Paula A Monroe.
Becoming a community partner of P.A.M. Media Outreach, means The PM Group will be providing a $15,000 donation for their Leadership Program and Urban Communities Teen Summit so they can purchase laptop computers, camera equipment and other necessary learning supplies. We hope our donation of supplies and funds can help P.A.M. Media Outreach continue to help the Black and Hispanic youth in our community acquire new skills and capabilities to make lasting, positive changes.
